Priorat county is in the Principality of Catalonia, one of Spain’s Autonomous Communities.
It is made up of 23 municipalities spanning over a territory of 517.21 km2, with a population of 10.325 inhabitants. The density of its population is 20 people per km².
It borders the following counties in Tarragona province: Garrigues to the north, Conca de Barberà and Baix Camp to the east and Ribera d’Ebre to the south and west.
It forms a singular basin, that of the Siurana River.
