Planted mostly in the Rhone area and in Australia, this is a variety of early ripening, medium-high alcohol content, medium acidity, which conveys to the wine aromas of violets and red fruits. It is ideal for planting in hot areas. Its color potential is high, as is its content in tannins. It has excellent qualities for crianza as well as young wines, depending on the degree of maturity of the grape.
