The views and landscape that can be enjoyed from different parts of the town are of singular beauty. To name but a few, the “balconet”, “mountain street”, and the little hill of the cross. Montsant can be seen in the background, as well as the Siurana River, the bridge, the gardens, vineyards, all from a stunning vantage point.
This small, hospitable and tranquil village now has a census of 143 inhabitants, but at certain times, especially in summer, it can number over 500.
The annual festival is held on 29 September for Saint Michael’s Day. There are festivals in summer around the 15th of August.
The town also has its Grallers i Geganters folk music and street theatre troupe that takes part in festivals and gatherings around Catalonia.
One of the most special traditions is the holding of the “Jocs Florals”, a poetry contest, on the second Saturday of May. Attended by senior Catalan authorities, it is a major Catalan literary festival.
Visitors are always warmly received. There are lodging and other facilities, such as the swimming pool in its unmatched setting, and a sports complex, that they may use.
Outings, horseback rides, hikes, bungee jumping and other outdoor activities are also organized.
